Introduction to Food Writers Symposim 2006
I have been planning to attend the Food Writers Symposium for the last 3 years, and this year I finally pulled it together to attend. I will arrive in time for Friday’s sessions and plan to keep you all up to date as to the happenings. The conference actually started on Thursday so I’ll have to get the info on what I missed, I’ll let you all know about that as well. You should check out the conference site http://www.greenbrier.com/foodwriters and feel free to post any questions you would like answered.
Please note: My technological skills are not stellar and this is my first blog so I hope to be able to keep up and be a helpful resource for you all.
About me: My name is Adrienne Hinds, and I completed Pam White’s food writing class in 2002 (?) time flies – I own a catering/event planning company called ah la mode, and have used my experiences from the business to write some articles. I have had an audio book on Wedding Planning published as well as three articles in small publications such as Home Cooking Magazine.
I am currently working on a book proposal, however, I do not have enough done, nor the proposal in shape to “share”. So, right off, I am missing the opportunity to get feedback from the professionals Don Fry or Antonia Allegra – that is totally my fault. So, before I even arrive I’ll put “that” in the must do category: Make sure you have some writing for critique.
I’ll stop here and look forward to your questions, and to writing a full recap for the newsletter in April 2006!

Pam, what a terific service you are providing. I am a 52 year old exec chef who is planning to segue my cooking career into a writing career as my physical stamina is reduced as I age.
